Crafting a Paper House
My first paper house.

Crafting a paper house, or Putz house village has been on my mind for awhile. We’ve all been spending a lot more time at home lately, thanks to a global pandemic. But that hasn’t necessarily been a bad thing. I’ve really enjoyed spending more time on creative endeavors and trying new things, while Norman has really enjoyed spending more time on gaming.

One of the creative endeavors I have embarked on is paper craft. Norman got me a Cricut Maker for my birthday a couple years ago and the realm of possibilities was so overwhelming I haven’t done much with it besides making some greeting cards and a T-shirt.

I finally decided I was ready for some serious crafting and was going to make a whole spooky Halloween (or every day as I like to call it) village. Inspired by my friend Kim’s amazing Halloween village. I practiced by making some game play elements for the D&D game Norman is running. Once I was comfortable with the tools, papers and glues (oh my!) I began the hunt for some house patterns.

I knew I had to make this!

Thanks to Paper Glitter Glue, I found a perfect spooky Halloween house to start with!

I love the simple beauty of the colored papers, so I didn’t embellish with chalks or paint or anything, in order to keep it pure. I have a ton of ideas for embellishing my next paper house project though! As you can see, I am absolutely an amateur and I made quite a few mistakes, but I am completely happy with the results of my first paper house!
